The Laser Tool Setter is available in 3 different sizes and the Tool Setters LTS90 and LTS160 are also available with central connections downwards. Laser Tool Setters with sideward connections are used on machines with no kinematic turning/swivelling mechanisms acting on the supply lines. They are fix mounted in the working area of the machine tool. The Laser Tool Setters with central downward connections are used on machines with turning/swivelling mechanisms where the supply lines are guided through a rotary union. They are flange-mounted on the turning/swivelling unit.
Non-contact tool measurement allowing automatic checks for tool wear or breakage. Constant production quality requires the use of reliable accurate tooling. One vital requirement is precise tool data. The data is automatically transferred to the tool table of the control. Periodic tool checks for broken tools or wear create additional production safety. The Laser Tool Setter from m&h will do this job, saving time and increasing reliability.
Precision and process reliability - Precision measurements regardless of geometry and tool dimensions
- Uncertainty in measurement due to varying thermal expansion of materials is ruled out
- Precision measurements for tools larger than 0.008 mm (0.0003'')
- Supersonic air jets significantly reduce measurement errors from dirt on the tool
- Software algorithms to eliminate the effects of coolant drops
- No interference from ambient light
Sturdy design
- Compact, stainless steel housing
- Laser optics protected using motor-operated shutter unit
- Air curtain prevents dirt particles entering the device
- Measurement system sealed according to IP68 standard
Simple setup
- Simple mounting and setup without special pneumatic unit
- No special, accurate alignment of the laser unit required
- Simple orientation and mechanical definition of the focal point
- No external activation of the shutter unit and air curtain
